After 30 years with the National Cotton Council, Dr. Andy Jordan, vice president of technical services, announced his retirement and was honored at a dinner at the NCC’s Annual Meeting in Austin, TX, in early February. His retirement is affective February 28.
“Andy’s service record in our industry will be recognized by many groups prior to and following his retirement,” said Mark Lange, NCC chairman, prior to the dinner. “This special event is intended to provide that opportunity for Cotton Foundation leaders, both past and present.”
Jordan said, “As we look back over the history of U.S. cotton, technological change has been essential and dramatic. In my business, effective vision translates to good research and extension education put into action.
“I pray that in the year 2037, our leaders will be able to look back and say we have a healthy agriculture sector and cotton markets because of the visionary leaders of 2007. With our new crop of leaders, I predict that will happen.”
