Americot Adds New Director of Technical Research

Americot, Inc., a leading supplier of premium cotton seed, is pleased to announce its Director of Technical Services, Dr. Ken Legé, whose responsibilities will include introducing new traits, coordinating OVT plots with universities, and working with state cotton specialists, growers and consultants from Arizona to the Carolinas.

Americot General Manager Terry Campbell notes that Legé draws deep from extensive multi-level experience across the Cotton Belt. “We are excited to have Ken on the Americot team,” Campbell says. “This outstanding agronomist is a former South Carolina Cotton Specialist, and has been heavily involved with the commercial cotton seed business. He has worked in cotton since 1988 and speaks easily with growers and researchers alike. Ken’s experience, reputation and energy will be critical as Americot moves to launch a whole set of new products with new technology over the next few years.”

“I’m excited to work with a company that’s not only cotton focused, but is also cotton grower focused,” Legé says. “It’s obvious that Americot is committed to delivering quality products to cotton growers. In addition to working with growers, I look forward to working with consultants, academics and others to show the Cotton Belt even more what Americot is all about and its excellent Americot brand and NexGen brand cotton varieties that offer high yield potential and excellent fiber quality.”
