Planting Intentions for 2015 Impact Aerial Sowing of Fall Cover Crops for Weed Control

Tennessee Extension Weed Specialist Larry Steckel says there’s a lot of interest in aerial seeding of cover crops into standing crops like cotton, corn and soybeans this fall to help with weed suppression next spring.

In a recent UT News Blog post, Steckel noted that the most common questions he gets focus on what cover crop should be sown and at what rate. The answers, however, lie in a grower’s planting intentions for their fields next year.
