Americot Adds Seven to Sales, Research Teams

Karen Geldmacher, Bryan Peyton, Scott Russell, Mike Wood, Jerrid Small, Cody Jones and Shane Osborne have joined Americot, Inc., a leading supplier of premium cottonseed.

“Due to our tremendous growth and customer demand in the last year, we continue to add highly-talented agriculture professionals to our team,” said Chiree Fields, Americot general manager. “I am extremely pleased that Karen, Bryan, Scott, Mike, Jerrid, Cody and Shane have all joined Americot and feel very fortunate that we’re able to welcome them into the Americot family.”

Karen Geldmacher joins the Americot research team as a Research and Germplasm Specialist, based in Arizona. A graduate of the University of Arizona with B.S. and M.S. degrees in agriculture, she has worked with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and spent more than two decades as an advisor and trial manager with Tierra Verde Farms and Bar U7 Farms in central Arizona. In addition, she has served as a professor of agriculture with Central Arizona College for the past 22 years.

Bryan Peyton will support Americot customers and growers as a Mid-South sales representative, based in Leland, MS. A graduate of Mississippi State University with degrees in Agriculture Extension and Education and Weed Science, he has worked as a sales representative and precision ag specialist for Helena Chemical. He most recently served in sales for Progeny Ag Products.

Scott Russell will be Americot’s sales representative in South Georgia, and will also handle agronomic responsibilities for southwest Georgia, southeast Alabama and Florida. He holds agricultural degrees from Auburn and from LSU, and has worked as an IPM agent in south Texas and as independent crop consultant for cotton and peanut growers in South Georgia. He resides in Hartsfield, GA.

Mike Wood joins Americot’s Southeast team. An Auburn graduate, he managed his family farm near Selma, AL, before beginning a sales career with FMC, ICI Americas and Syngenta in south Alabama and southwest Georgia.

Jerrid Small joins Americot as a sales representative, supporting customers and growers in Louisiana. A 2007 graduate of Arkansas State University, he worked for Olton Grain CO-OP in Olton, TX, before moving to Bossier City, LA, to work in sales for Progeny Ag Products.

Cody Jones joins the Americot research team as a Research and Germplasm Specialist, serving the High Plains and North Plains regions. A Texas native, he holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in agriculture from Texas Tech University. He joins Americot after 22 years in technology development with Monsanto.

Shane Osborne joins Americot’s Northern High Plains team as a sales representative for Oklahoma. A graduate of Texas Tech with degrees in Agricultural Economics and in Agronomy, he has worked for Texas A&M University and for Oklahoma State University. He most recently worked as an agronomist for Western Equipment.
