Special Roundup Ready PLUS Incentives for Arkansas

In 2018, Arkansas growers will have a unique Roundup Ready PLUS Crop Management Solutions platform, including additional herbicide incentives, to enable them to utilize the highest yielding genetics of Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans and XtendFlex cotton, and achieve excellent weed control with additional herbicide incentives through Roundup Ready PLUS.

While growers in Arkansas likely won’t have access to the full benefits of the Roundup Ready Xtend Crop System this year, including in-crop use of XtendiMax herbicide with VaporGrip Technology (now a restricted use pesticide), Monsanto has remained focused on ensuring growers have access to the best germplasm and herbicides available.

“It’s unfortunate that growers in Arkansas likely won’t have access to use XtendiMax with VaporGrip Technology in-crop in 2018, but we’ve put together an incentive package that will help growers keep their fields clean and allow them to plant the best genetics available,” says Scott Burchette, Monsanto crop protection systems lead. “We will continue to work to provide access to low-volatility dicamba options Arkansas growers deserve, but Monsanto wants to ensure Arkansas growers have alternative stewardship options as well.”

Effective December 6, 2017, through Roundup Ready PLUS Crop Management Solutions, growers in Arkansas can take advantage of the following incentives on qualifying 2018 purchases (see participating retailers for details):

  • Use 32 oz. of Roundup PowerMAX II and 4 pts. Warrant pre, followed by 50 fluid oz. Warrant Ultra post with your Roundup Ready 2 Xtend soybeans for $14/acre in addition to any other Roundup Ready PLUS Crop Management Solutions endorsed herbicides
  • Use 32 oz. of Roundup PowerMAX II and 4 pts. Warrant with your Bollgard II XtendFlex cotton for $6/acre in addition to any other Roundup Ready PLUS Crop Management Solutions endorsed herbicides

“Monsanto is not giving up on dicamba technology in Arkansas,” says Ty Witten, Monsanto crop protection lead. “Arkansas farmers deserve – and have been calling for – access to the same tools as farmers in other states where XtendiMax with VaporGrip Technology low-volatility formulation is available for in-crop use and has performed extremely well during the 2017 season. While we’re disappointed that Arkansas growers likely won’t have access to in-crop use of XtendiMax with VaporGrip Technology in 2018, we want to offer growers a weed management alternative that will enable them to take advantage of the strong genetics of the Roundup Ready Xtend Crop System.”
