Stoneville Legacy Club Honors Charter Members

Just as Eli Whitney marked a significant upturn for production when he patented the cotton gin in 1794, 129 cotton growers nailed a goal when they recorded yields reflective of that historic event.

Growers qualified for the new Stoneville Legacy Club with recorded average yields of 1,794 pounds per acre or higher on at least 20 acres with Stoneville varieties.

“Congratulations to our new Legacy Club members, and thank you to everybody who grows Stoneville cotton varieties,” says Jason Wistehuff, U.S. product manager for Stoneville cotton.

“The results achieved by qualifying club members show the strength of the Stoneville brand,” Wistehuff says. “These are the results of the ultimate on-farm trials. Legacy Club growers selected the right variety for the right field, provided expert management, and then delivered yields worthy of recognition.

“This club offers proof of that performance.”
