STAX & SCO Information Released by USDA
October 11, 2014 USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) has released premium rates and expected area-wide yields for the Stacked Income Protection Plan (STAX) and the Supplemental Coverage Option (SCO), both of which will be available for 2015 Upland cotton.
Rates and yields can be found within the Actuarial Information Browser section of the RMA homepage. STAX coverage areas can be found on the Farm Bill – 2014 page at the RMA website.
RMA is in the process of updating a Crop Insurance Decision Tool that will illustrate the insurance choices available to cotton in 2015.
The National Cotton Council will offer cotton industry members a detailed look at the new insurance products at 25 educational meetings across the Cotton Belt from November 10 through December 10.
