Tate Re-elected American Cotton Producers Chair

Michael Tate of Huntsville, AL, was re-elected as chairman of the American Cotton Producers (ACP) of the National Cotton Council (NCC) for 2017, during the NCC’s annual meeting held in Dallas, TX.
Currently a NCC director, the north Alabama cotton producer has served on and chaired various ACP and NCC committees and task forces.
Elected as an ACP vice chairman was Mark McKean, Riverdale, CA. John Lindamood, Tiptonville, TN, and Doyle Schniers, San Angelo, TX, were re-elected as vice chairmen.
Elected as an ACP producer director was David Dunlow, Gaston, NC, representing the Southeast region. Re-elected as ACP producer directors were Nathan Reed, Marianna, AR, representing the Mid-South; Shawn Holladay, Lubbock, TX, representing the Southwest; and Dan Thelander, Maricopa, AZ, representing the Far West. Tate will continue to serve as at-large director.
Serving as ACP state producer chairmen in 2017 will be:
- Alabama – Nick McMichen, Centre, and Ricky Wiggins, Andalusia
- Arizona –Gregory Wuertz, Casa Grande, and K.C. Gingg, Buckeye
- Arkansas – Terry Pollard, Greenway
- California – Gary Martin, Firebaugh

- Georgia – Matt Coley, Vienna, and Chad Mathis, Jr., Arlington

- Louisiana – Jason Condrey, Lake Providence

- Missouri/Illinois – Chris Porter, Essex, MO
- New Mexico – Dean Calvani, Carlsbad
- North Carolina – Andrew Burleson, New London, and Joseph Martin, II, Conway

The NCC’s American Cotton Producers is an organization of cotton producer leaders elected by their peers from across the Cotton Belt. All major cotton-producing states have representation. The ACP is the producers’ advocate within the NCC and has responsibility for developing recommendations on all matters affecting the cotton production sector.
