Updated Mid-South Defoliation Guide Now Online

The Mid-South cotton crop is rapidly maturing, and Tennessee Extension Cotton Specialist Tyson Raper believes many of those acres will be ready to defoliate soon after Hurricane Irma moves through the area.

That means it’s time for growers to start considering defoliation timing, products and rates for their cotton acres.

The 2017 Mid-South Cotton Defoliation Guide has been updated by the MidSouth Cotton Specialists’ Working Group to help growers with these decisions and provide harvest aid recommendations. The revised guide is now available online.

“Please keep in mind that this was compiled as a regional guide and should be used in conjunction with your previous experiences,” notes Raper to growers.
