New Cotton Webcasts Focus on Using Yield Monitor Data for Precision Planning

Two new webcasts to help growers successfully capture and use data from their yield monitors during harvest have been added to the Focus on Cotton online webcast resource, developed by Cotton Incorporated and the Plant Management Network.

Yield monitors are often the first step for growers who want to practice site-specific crop management. But, as the webcasts demonstrate, the real value of the data generated by yield monitors comes when it is incorporated into the decision-making, analysis, and overall planning process of the farming operation.

The webcasts focus on monitors found on popular John Deere and Case IH pickers and module systems:

These two applied presentations can help users collectively learn how to operate the Case IH 600 and John Deere 2630 series display systems; download yield data and mapping; move the data into farm management software; and monitor and use the data as a framework to develop site-specific programs for fertilizer, water and other inputs.

The Focus on Cotton series contains more than 25 webcasts on various aspects of cotton crop management, including agronomic practices, crop protection and ag engineering. The presentations are accessible online at any time.
