New Video Series Details Benefits of Cover Crops

Cotton Incorporated, in conjunction with the University of Tennessee, has created a series of videos to explain the benefits of successfully integrating cover crops into cotton growing operations.

Housed on Cotton Incorporated’s producer-directed website Cotton Cultivated, the series includes three videos ranging in length from four to six minutes each, covering topics such as:

  • Benefits of cover crops on herbicide resistant weeds.
  • General overview of using cover crops in cotton and their benefits.
  • How cover crops increase rainfall infiltration and reduce drought stress.

“We see these videos as a great way to support our industry’s sustainability goals,” says Dr. Ed Barnes, senior director of Agricultural & Environmental Research at Cotton Incorporated. “The videos focus on the impact of cover crops and are a great resource for growers. But they may also be useful in illustrating what cotton growers are doing to minimize their environmental impact.”
