Cotton Incorporated Prepares to Host Crop Management Seminar

As new cotton technologies hit the market and shifts in pest complex scenarios continue to cause producers and their consultants to re-evaluate their production and crop protection decisions, Cotton Incorporated is again hosting one of their most popular events with which to showcase and relay that information to the industry through speakers and demonstrations. The 2010 Crop Management Seminar (CMS) and related Precision Cotton and COTMAN Workshops will be held November 9-11 at the Memphis Marriott East, in Memphis, TN.

On-line registration will be available at cottoninc.com by the end of September.

“Today’s consultants have to provide a broader range of services and advice to their producer clients and this conference helps them accomplish that goal,” says Cotton Incorporated’s Dr. Pat O’Leary.

This year’s CMS will not only include sessions and speakers on Insect and Weed Management, but also on variety selection and precision agriculture. Cotton Incorporated’s Dr. Ed Barnes will host two Precision Cotton Workshops on November 11.

“Our first workshop will focus on the use of crop sensors to vary nitrogen rates in real-time and the second will explain how wireless sensor systems can be used for scheduling irrigation,” says Barnes.
