Control Italian Ryegrass Early

An early February burndown application for glyphosate-resistant Italian ryegrass can provide growers time and flexibility in deciding how to control escapes prior to planting.

Jason Bond, Mississippi State University weed scientist, notes in an article on the Mississippi Crops website that control failures with clethodim on glyphosate-resistant Italian ryegrass were common across the entire Delta in 2016 – some due to larger growth thanks to mild weather during late fall and early winter and plant stress from prolonged wet weather.
