Growers Urged to Comment on Aldicarb Re-Registration

Gus Lorenz, University of Arkansas Extension entomologist, reports that the EPA is currently reviewing the re-registration of aldicarb (formerly known as Temik), now being produced by AgLogic.

The product is currently available in Georgia, with plans to make it available for use in the Mid-South in 2017. Early season tests conducted in the Mid-South this spring indicated that the aldicarb treatment had fewer thrips and less damage than all other treatments.

Lorenz notes that the comment period for the re-registration is open until June 22.

His online blog provides additional details and photos, as well as a link to the AgLogic website through which growers can access the EPA comment pages.
