Glyphosate-Resistant Johnsongrass Focus of New Webcast

A new webcast – titled “Glyphosate-Resistant Johnsongrass Management” – has been added to the Focus on Cotton online series from the Plant Management Network and Cotton Incorporated.

If managed improperly, glyphosate-resistant johnsongrass can completely overtake a cotton field because of its ability to reproduce and spread through rhizomes.

This 22-minute talk by Daniel O. Stephenson, IV, associate professor and weed science specialist at Louisiana State University, was developed to help cotton growers, consultants, and other industry experts identify effective herbicide programs and other management techniques that limit johnsongrass growth before and after emergence.

During the presentation, Stephenson provides information to help users evaluate the effectiveness of different herbicide schedules; select and implement a zero tolerance, total herbicide program; and reduce infestation potential with rotation and sanitation techniques.

This presentation is part of the Focus on Cotton series made available by the Plant Management Network and Cotton Incorporated. The Focus on Cotton series contains more than 50 webcasts on various aspects of cotton crop management, including agronomic practices, crop protection and ag engineering. The presentations are accessible online at any time.
