FiberMax(ed) on the Plains

With the 2007 cotton harvest complete on the High Plains, growers have their sights set on the 2008 crop season. In fact, many of them have decided what cotton varieties and technologies they will incorporate next spring.

Jeff Brehmer, U.S. FiberMax marketing manager, said Bayer CropScience has established a good reputation in the High Plains with varieties that perform ideally under local growing conditions.

Brehmer said newer varieties - especially FM 9063B2F, FM 9058F, FM 9150F, FM 9180B2F, FM 1740B2F and FM 1880B2F - will continue raising the bar in this part of the Cotton Belt.

"The last four years have brought the four largest High Plains cotton harvests in history," Brehmer said. "Meantime, growers notice that the yield potential of FiberMax varieties coupled with fiber quality often generates a premium. More than half of the High Plains is planted to FiberMax varieties."

For more information on the complete 2008 lineup of FiberMax varieties, contact your local Bayer CropScience field representative or see: www.FiberMax.com.
