Farm Bill Heads for Veto and Override
Two things that scare the wits out of me are cottonmouth water moccasins and Nancy Pelosi.

You go … |
I grew up huntin’, fishin’ and frawg giggin’ in the Mis’sippi Delta. That should more than explain my ophidiophobia, huh? I’ve said this around our office a jillion times: I’d rather face an alligator than a cottonmouth. Given the choice of fight or flight, the alligator will almost always pick flight. Given the choice of fight or flight, a cottonmouth almost always takes the fight.
As for Pelosi, I’m sure some fear her because she is a powerful woman. Not me – I fear her because she is a liberal Democrat in a position of power. My daughters are conservative Republicans in positions of power. Around me, my son and my son-in-law, what my daughters say is law. I’ll gladly defer to them. See how it works?
But I say without reservation that I am on a liberal Democrat’s side versus George Bush, a conservative Republican, as the Farm Bill fight comes to a head.
 |
… just go |
Bush drew a line in the sand when he promised to veto the new bill after it was overwhelmingly passed last week by both Houses of Congress. After that bi-partisan vote, his veto is moot and means less than squat. He can read the bill on Monday, veto it on Tuesday, and Pelosi will have the votes to override on Wednesday.
These days Bush reminds me of a Labrador retriever puppy: he’s cute until he jumps on you with muddy feet. I voted for Bush twice, and right now, there’s nobody muddier than me.
So I’ll end by saying, you go, Nancy. And you go too, George. Just go.
