Foreign Governments Work to Stem Falling Cotton Prices

U.S. cotton producers are not alone when it comes to wringing hands and worrying about current cotton prices.

According to an article in the Business Standard, government officials in India, China and Pakistan are working to put cotton “interventions” – or subsidies – in place to protect their countries’ growers. Together, those three countries produce roughly 60 percent of the world’s cotton.
