ITMF-ICCTM Gives Full Recognition to AQUALAB for Fiber Testing

The International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) International Committee on Cotton Testing Methods (ICCTM) gave full recognition to AQUALAB, a fiber-testing instrument produced by Mesdan S.p.A of Italy, during its recent meeting during the 32nd International Bremen Cotton Conference.

The Mesdan AQUALAB measures the moisture content and moisture regain of fiber through an innovative microwave low power resonance technology that is relatively fast and easy to use. Rapid measurement of moisture content and regain is useful throughout every stage in the cotton value chain to optimize yarn and fabric production and accurately determine value.

ICCTM recognition is conferred on testing instruments and methods that are beneficial for the cotton value-added chain. Key criteria for recognition of an instrument are the performance of the test method, which implies the measurement of new cotton characteristics; better resolution/less uncertainty/less influences to existing methods; or direct user benefit such as reduced operating time without reducing the resolution.
