Pakistan Taking the Fight to Cotton Leaf Curl Virus

According to a report from fibre2fashion.com, Pakistani Food Minister Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan is asking scientists to pay more attention to cotton leaf curl virus (CLCV), which is responsible for the loss of two to three million bales of cotton annually in Pakistan.

His comments came during a two-day workshop on “Enhancing Cotton Germplasm Improving Resistance to CLVC Disease.” In his remarks, he noted the cooperative efforts of USDA, which is working closely with Pakistan to help develop CLCV resistant varieties.
