USDA Unveils Cotton Board Appointments

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced the appointment of 9 members and 10 alternate members to the Cotton Board. The members and alternates will serve a three-year term, ending December 31, 2012.

“I am very pleased that these U.S. cotton producers and importers have agreed to provide their time and expertise to serve this industry,” said Larkin Martin, Alabama Cotton Producer and Chairman of the Cotton Board.

The re-appointed members are: Kevin Rogers, Producer, Arizona; Tommy Gary, Producer, Mississippi; Mark Williams, Producer, Texas; Janet Ydavoy, Importer, Florida; and Sonja Chapman, Importer, New Jersey.

The re-appointed alternate members are: Ben Boyd, Producer, Georgia; Randy Braden, Producer, Texas; Linda Taylor, Producer, Texas; Carlos Moore, Importer, Washington D.C.; and Robert Mele, Importer, New York.

The newly appointed members are: Jeff Posey, Producer, Texas; Teel Warbington, Producer, Georgia; Kimberly Pettit, Importer, North Carolina; and Monica Gorman, Importer, Pennsylvania.

Vilsack appointed Mark Wright to the alternate position in Texas. The term of this position ends in 2010.
