Scott Coopwood is a son of the Mississippi Delta, born and raised in the heart of traditional cotton country.
Today, he’s the owner and publisher of Delta Magazine, one of the South’s leading lifestyle publications; the Delta Business Journal, the first business publication in the Mississippi Delta; and The Cleveland Current, the Cleveland, MS weekly newspaper.
In a recent online article, Coopwood spent some time reminiscing about growing up in cotton fields and the camaraderie of harvest and ginning season. And he also noted – sadly, yet realistically – some of the factors why those days have passed.
