Early May’s Crop Scan AgReport shows busy growers in most parts of the eastern and southern Cotton Belt as temperatures rise, wet weather is putting a damper on planting progress in the upper Mid-South, and Texas has too much or too little moisture.
Ahead of USDA reports due in May and June, the cotton market will continue to focus mostly on U.S. crop conditions and weekly exports for direction.
Combine Georgia cotton, an all-U.S. team of textile mills, and dedicated industry partners and you get an innovative program to provide 100% cotton scrubs to rural hospitals. Keylon Gholston of Deltapine – one of those partners – joins the Cotton Companion to explain the program…and offer some planting advice, too.
