A series of three articles related to grower use of Bollgard II and Roundup Ready Flex is now available addressing the following topics:
- Growers Welcome Natural Refuge Option For Bollgard II®
The option of not planting an Insect Resistance Management (IRM) refuge of non-Bt cotton when growing Bollgard II® cotton - and relying instead on a "natural refuge" - is getting a big thumbs up from growers, consultants and academics alike.
- Bollgard II® Gives Growers Unrivaled Worm Control
Bollgard II® cotton was planted on approximately 3.6 million acres in 2007, which was almost double the 2006 acreage. For 2008, Monsanto forecasts approximately 5 million acres of Bollgard II will be planted, with 4 million - or 80 percent - of the 5 million forecast acres being planted to Bollgard II cotton varieties stacked with the Roundup Ready® Flex technology.
- Roundup Ready® Flex Technology Cited for "Ease of Management" and Time Savings
When you talk to cotton growers about what they like best about Roundup
Ready® Flex cotton, they will tell you that the technology has freed them up
to do other things, whether it's spending more time managing other crops or
