Cotton International Announces 2012 Global Summit

2012 Global Summit

The more market volatility and other unpredictable factors put pressure on companies throughout the cotton supply chain, the need for clear and actionable communication between stakeholders becomes even more crucial. To help meet this critical industry need, Cotton International magazine has announced that it will hold its inaugural 2012 Global Summit from April 25-27 at the Landmark Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. The event will be held in cooperation with the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF).

The 2012 Global Summit will provide a business forum for face-to-face communication between buyers and sellers of raw cotton, along with the allied service industries that facilitate and enhance the cotton trade, according to Gary Fitzgerald, chairman and CEO of Meister Media Worldwide, parent company of Cotton International.

“The current health and long-term sustainability of the global cotton industry is best served by direct interaction among industry sectors in a setting that encourages communication, relationship-building, education and the adoption of best practices to facilitate trade,” Fitzgerald says. “This gathering of leading cotton and textile professionals from across the globe will serve to ensure cotton’s leadership in these challenging times and its position as the world’s most popular and sustainable fiber.”

The two-and-a-half day event will feature an impressive list of cotton and textile experts from the merchant, mill and equipment communities as well as support sectors including logistics and finance. Registration will officially open on Nov. 18 and further details about the program, lodging, and related topics will be released in the coming weeks.
