With adequate water supplies at a premium in some areas of the Cotton Belt, cotton growers should be looking for all the efficiencies they can find in their irrigation programs.

[**A recent study conducted by Texas A&M AgriLife Research**](http://today.agrilife.org/2014/08/05/agrilife-research-study-center-pivot-does-not-always-mean-efficiency/), in partnership with the Texas Alliance for Water Conservation, showed that growers who were not using low energy precision application, or LEPA, sprinkler systems could be losing up to $100 per acre in yield.
