# UGA Cotton Breeder Focusing on Nematode Resistance

Ping Chee, a University of Georgia agronomist and cotton breeder, has spent 10 years working to develop in-plant resistance to root knot nematodes. According to a [**university report**](http://georgiafaces.caes.uga.edu/?public=viewStory&pk_id=5157), his work to develop DNA markers for the resistance genes is making solid progress.
