# Universities to Co-Organize International Textiles Conference Author: Jim.Robinson Published: 2011-12-14 Canonical URL: https://www.cottongrower.com/cotton-news/universities-to-co-organize-international-textiles-conference/ --- The 7th Advances in Textiles, Machinery, Nonwovens and Technical Textiles (ATNT) international conference will be held in Coimbatore, India, December 15-17, 2011. Textile scientists from eight countries will convene in the campus of Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT). Co-organized by KCT and Texas Tech University, the conference will feature more than 125 papers spanning the entire textile supply chain during the course of 16 sessions. Participants from the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Kazakhstan, Japan, Taiwan, Germany and India will be in attendance. A special feature of the event is the technical workshop, “Opportunities in Technical Textiles,” which will be conducted by the co-organizing secretary Dr. Seshadri Ramkumar of Texas Tech University. According to Professor J. Srinivasan, co-organizing secretary of ATNT-2011, “this conference provides a healthy mix of papers from academia and industry and will provide a deliberative platform for the participants from India and abroad to enjoy cutting-edge textile science and Indian hospitality.” For the first time, the conference will bring the chairpersons of leading textile associations such as the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry, the Southern India Mills Association, the South India Textile Research Association and the South India Cotton Association in one platform to highlight the status of the global textile industry.
