Cotton Australia has published a new Background Briefing paper that provides a comprehensive explanation of the country’s current state of water policy and legislation. Water issues remain crucial to Australian cotton farmers. The report is available at [www.cottonaustralia.com.au](http://www.cottonaustralia.com.au).

A key feature of the water reform process, the association notes, is the Water for the Future program, which includes both the buyback and irrigation infrastructure components.

In other news, more than 70 percent of the Australia’s cotton fields have been mapped on [www.cottonmap.com.au](http://www.cottonmap.com.au). The site is part of Cotton Australia’s campaign to curb damage from 2,4D drift this season.
