# Crop Progress: Another 10 Percent Gain in Cotton Harvest

Cotton harvest is starting to get downright monotonous.

For the fourth consecutive week, the [USDA Crop Progress report for the week ending Nov. 21](https://downloads.usda.library.cornell.edu/usda-esmis/files/8336h188j/bg258d49h/6w925c09t/prog4821.pdf) shows that U.S. cotton harvest, on average, increased another 10 percentage points. The crop now sits at 75% harvested – four percentage points over the 5-year average for this week.

Ten states reported double-digit increases of their own – Kansas (up 17 points); South Carolina (up 15); Oklahoma (up 14); Arizona (up 13); Alabama, Georgia, and Virginia (all up 12); North Carolina and Tennessee (up 11); and Texas (up 10).

Seven states – Arizona, California, Kansas, Missouri, North Carolina, Oklahoma, and Texas – are now reported at or ahead of their respective 5-year averages.
