# Growing Up in Cotton – Delta Style

Scott Coopwood is a son of the Mississippi Delta, born and raised in the heart of traditional cotton country.

Today, he’s the owner and publisher of *Delta Magazine*, one of the South’s leading lifestyle publications; the *Delta Business Journal**,* the first business publication in the Mississippi Delta; and *The Cleveland Current**,* the Cleveland, MS weekly newspaper.

In a recent online article, Coopwood spent some time reminiscing about growing up in cotton fields and the camaraderie of harvest and ginning season. And he also noted – sadly, yet realistically – some of the factors why those days have passed.
