# Growers Urged to Comment on Aldicarb Re-Registration Author: Jim Steadman Published: 2016-06-13 Canonical URL: https://www.cottongrower.com/crop-inputs/insect-disease-management/growers-urged-to-comment-on-aldicarb-re-registration/ --- Gus Lorenz, University of Arkansas Extension entomologist, reports that the EPA is currently reviewing the re-registration of aldicarb (formerly known as Temik), now being produced by AgLogic. The product is currently available in Georgia, with plans to make it available for use in the Mid-South in 2017. Early season tests conducted in the Mid-South this spring indicated that the aldicarb treatment had fewer thrips and less damage than all other treatments. Lorenz notes that the comment period for the re-registration is open until **June 22.** His [online blog provides additional details](http://www.arkansas-crops.com/2016/06/13/regarding-aldicarb-pesticide/) and photos, as well as a link to the AgLogic website through which growers can access the EPA comment pages.
