# Crop Progress Notes for Cotton – December 9

In its final Crop Progress report for the year, USDA has all but declared cotton harvest complete.

The [report for the week ending December 8](https://downloads.usda.library.cornell.edu/usda-esmis/files/8336h188j/p2677944j/mg74r2690/prog5019.pdf) showed that 89% of the U.S. crop has now been harvested – up 6% nationally in the past week. In all, 90% or more of this year’s harvest is complete in 13 of the 15 cotton producing states.

USDA will resume their weekly crop progress updates on April 6, 2020.
