“As Americot continues to grow, we’re extremely fortunate to add talented ag professionals like Mike, Bret, Savannah, Shane, Lance and Kevin to our team,” said Chiree Fields, Americot general manager. “Exceptional people are a core strength for our company, and I’m pleased that they are joining the family.”

Mike Raines graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a B.S. degree in Agricultural Economics and Business. Bret Mize has been involved in agriculture from a young age. He managed the family farm while earning his B.B.A in Marketing from the University of Mississippi. He spent three years with Bayer Crop Science and seven years with Progeny Ag Products before joining Americot. He will be based in Collierville, TN, and will support customers and growers in the Mid-South, including Mississippi.

Savannah Chappell was raised in a third-generation Texas farming family and graduated from Texas A&M University in 2016, earning a B.S. in Animal Science with a minor in Agricultural Economics. She worked with USDA – APHIS prior to joining Americot. Based in Raymondville, TX, she will serve Southwest customers and growers.

Shane Halfmann joins Americot as a Research and Germplasm Specialist, serving the Southwest region. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Plant and Soil Science from Texas A&M University. Previously, Shane spent 12 years with Monsanto, most recently as an Agronomic Research Manager. He resides in College Station, TX, and will be supporting east Texas regional area customers and growers.

Lance Keys has been in farming and agriculture for more than four decades, most recently working as an agronomy manager for Perryton Equity. Based in Childress, TX, he joins Americot’s Southwest regional sales team.

Kevin Ott holds a B.S. degree in Agricultural Education from Clemson University. After college and many years working the family farm, he worked for Pennington Seed, then in various sales positions within Helena Chemical. He resides in St. Matthews, SC, and joins the Americot Southeast regional team.

American-owned and fully independent, Americot is a national leader in cottonseed production and technologies. Headquartered in Lubbock, TX, the company provides Southwest, Mid-South and Southeast cotton growers with quality planting seed of localized varieties, offering high yield potential and excellent fiber quality, plus the technologies that growers want and need.
