Americot Team Continues to Grow

Americot, Inc., a leading supplier of premium cotton seed, has added six additional team members – Mike Raines, Bret Mize, Savannah Chappell, Shane Halfmann, Lance Keys and Kevin Ott – to the company’s sales and technical support team.

Mike Raines graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a B.S. degree in Agricultural Economics and Business. Prior to joining Americot, he worked in positions with Griffin LLC, UAP Mid-South and Helena Chemical Company. He will be based in Brownsville, TN, and will support growers and customers in the Mid-South region, primarily in Tennessee and northern Alabama.

Bret Mize has been involved in agriculture from a young age. He managed the family farm while earning his B.B.A in Marketing from the University of Mississippi. He spent three years with Bayer Crop Science and seven years with Progeny Ag Products before joining Americot. He will be based in Collierville, TN, and will support customers and growers in the Mid-South, including Mississippi.

Savannah Chappell was raised in a third-generation Texas farming family and graduated from Texas A&M University in 2016, earning a B.S. in Animal Science with a minor in Agricultural Economics. She worked with USDA – APHIS prior to joining Americot. Based in Raymondville, TX, she will serve Southwest customers and growers.

Shane Halfmann joins Americot as a Research and Germplasm Specialist, serving the Southwest region. He holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Plant and Soil Science from Texas A&M University. Previously, Shane spent 12 years with Monsanto, most recently as an Agronomic Research Manager. He resides in College Station, TX, and will be supporting east Texas regional area customers and growers.

Lance Keys has been in farming and agriculture for more than four decades, most recently working as an agronomy manager for Perryton Equity. Based in Childress, TX, he joins Americot’s Southwest regional sales team.

Kevin Ott holds a B.S. degree in Agricultural Education from Clemson University. After college and many years working the family farm, he worked for Pennington Seed, then in various sales positions within Helena Chemical. He resides in St. Matthews, SC, and joins the Americot Southeast regional team.
