An ACSA-llent Event

Majestic Charleston, South Carolina, was the host city for the 2010 Annual Convention of the American Cotton Shippers Association (ACSA), held May 12-14.

More than 100 cotton professionals attended the convention, traveling from locales as far as Pakistan, Turkey, Germany and China, to hear world-class speakers such as Jordan Lea, ACSA President and Chairman of the Eastern Trading Company; Edgar Woods of the Palmetto Grains Brokerage; Mark Lange of the National Cotton Council; and the Port of Charleston’s Paul McClintock.

The educational program included sessions on topics such as futures contracts; transportation, documentation and insurance; data systems and information development; ginning practices and warehouses; primary buyers/mill service agents; quality, quotations and technical standards; domestic and foreign trade; and national affairs.

With such an outstanding program for this year’s event, the cotton world eagerly awaits the 2011 ACSA Convention, which will be held May 11-13 at the renowned Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, DC.
