Technical Textiles Paper Wins Top Award
A research paper about the technical textile industry has received the “Best Technical Paper Award” at the 66th annual conference of the India Textile Association, which was held in Bangalore on Jan. 28-29.
Written by Dr. Seshadri Ramkumar, an associate professor in The Institute of Environmental and Human Health at Texas Tech University in the United States, the paper was entitled, “Technical Textiles: Opportunities.”
Dr. Ramkumar presented his paper at the annual conference of the Textile Association (India) on Jan. 29. The association is the largest in the field of textiles with over 22,000 members and the conference–which had a theme of “Expanding Sustainable Limits to India’s Positioning in Global Textiles and Clothing”–attracted about 500 participants. The attendees traveled to the conference from countries all over the world, including India, the United States, China, Switzerland and Germany.
The award was presented to Dr. Ramkumar during the event’s closing ceremony by the president and the vice president of the India Textile Association.
