Cotton Price Risk Management Seminar Explores Futures Options
A basic and intermediate workshop sponsored by Cotton Incorporated and Plains Cotton Growers will be held on March 30 in Lubbock, Texas to explore ways to manage risk with futures options.
Mike Stevens, cotton specialist, will be the the discussion leader during the event which will cover “Market-Based Strategies for How to Manage Your Price Risk for the 2011 Crop Season, Integrating Crop and Revenue Insurance”.
Instructors Dr. Carl Anderson, and Dr. John Robinson will discuss when and how to use a variety of option strategies including fences, 3-ways and calendar back spreads.
Main topics for the event include:

- What can options do for you and how?
- Actionable hedging strategies based on various price scenarios
