ICA, Supima Sign Cooperative Agreement
The International Cotton Association (ICA) signed and exchanged a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Supima to formally acknowledge the alliance and cooperation between the two cotton organizations.
The agreement – signed during the recent American Cotton Shippers Association Annual Convention – will help foster greater cooperation between the ICA and Supima and enable them to work more closely on a number of shared goals, including promoting sanctity of contract, training and visit programs, information exchange and dissemination, diplomatic initiatives, and testing and quality issues.
“I am really pleased that we can add Supima to the ICA’s growing list of alliances,” notes ICA President Kim Hanna. “Along with our existing MoUs, this latest addition will strengthen the relationships between organizations through increased communication and collaboration, which will ultimately help make cotton trading safer.”
The ICA also has existing MoUs with:
- U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol
- Better Cotton
- China Cotton Association
- China National Cotton Exchange
- Cotton Association of India
- Aid by Trade Foundation with its initiative Cotton Made in Africa
- TextileGenesis
