ICAC, TTF to Host Seminar on Textile Industry Sustainability

The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) and the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) will hold a joint seminar in Taipei, Taiwan, entitled “Challenges for a Sustainable Textile Industry.” Scheduled for October 14, the seminar will complement the Taipei Innovative Textile Application Show, to be held October 13-15 at the Taipei World Trade center.

The seminar will focus on challenges for the environmentally responsible production of fibers and textiles, innovation, the effective use of natural resources, corporate social responsibility, supply chain management, and integrating sustainability into strategy.

The agenda include sessions on:
• New Developments in Fiber Supply and Demand;
• Technological Advancements in Production that Improve Cotton Quality;
• Current Status and Prospect of Man-Made Fiber Supply and-Demand;
• Global brand/retailer in coping with market demand and is working at integrating sustainability into its strategy;
• The Impact of U.S. Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act; and
• The Impact on Taiwan Textile Industry’s Role after Signing of The Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement between Taiwan and China.
