NCC Congratulates Klobuchar and Craig as Ag Committee Ranking Members
The National Cotton Council (NCC) congratulates Sen. Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota on her appointment as the new Ranking Member of the Senate Agriculture Committee and Rep. Angie Craig on her appointment as the Ranking Member of the House Agriculture Committee.
In a statement, the NCC noted that Sen. Klobuchar’s extensive experience and deep-rooted commitment to agricultural issues make her an exceptional choice for this pivotal role.
“The NCC is confident that Sen. Klobuchar’s leadership will bring significant benefits to the agricultural sector. Her understanding of the challenges faced by farmers, combined with her ability to work across party lines, will ensure that the needs of the agricultural community are effectively addressed.”
NCC Chairman Joe Nicosia praised Rep. Craig, noting that “Her leadership will bring valuable insights and a strong commitment to addressing the challenges faced by the agricultural community,”
Rep. Craig’s roots in Northeast Arkansas and the Mid-South – born in West Helena, attended high school in Jonesboro, and graduated from the University of Memphis – provide her with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in Southern agriculture.
She has served in Congress since 2019 and is currently in her fourth term as a U.S. Representative for Minnesota’s 2nd congressional district. Her background ensures she is well-equipped to advocate for policies that support our farmers and rural communities.
The NCC also extends gratitude to Rep. David Scott for his dedicated service and leadership as the previous Ranking Member. “His contributions have been instrumental in advancing the interests of American agriculture,” says the NCC’s statement, “and we look forward to continuing our work with him in his ongoing role on the committee.”
