Albaugh Introduces BIOST 2G Nematicide + Insecticide Seed Treatment
Albaugh has received U.S. Environmental Protection Agency end-use registration for BIOST 2G Nematicide + Insecticide, a new biological seed treatment that will be available in fall 2025.
BIOST 2G Nematicide + Insecticide (EPA Reg. No. 84059- 34-42750) is a second-generation biological seed treatment technology containing a novel active ingredient that has shown strong activity against plant parasitic nematodes, as well as corn rootworm larvae, seed maggots, wireworms, and other soil-borne insect pests. It is a non-living, shelf-stable biopesticide that consistently stops insect and nematode feeding to minimize crop losses with an environmentally friendly profile.
The new seed treatment will be available for use in cotton, corn, soybeans, cereal grains, potatoes, and other crops, pending final state registrations.
“BIOST 2G Nematicide + Insecticide is next generation technology that utilizes a novel active ingredient that has been used across more than 20 million acres — now formulated in a highly optimized, low use rate seed treatment that delivers proven activity against both nematodes and insects in one convenient solution,” says Chris Zita, Director – Albaugh Seed Treatments.
“The addition of BIOST 2G Nematicide + Insecticide to our BIOST Nature’s Science platform is an exciting expansion of our seed treatment portfolio that further demonstrates Albaugh’s commitment to delivering a broad portfolio of high-performing solutions for our customers to use in their customized seed treatment offers.”
