Dr. O.A. Cleveland says the major problem facing U.S. exports is not price, but rather obtaining enough tractor trailer rigs and vessels to move U.S. cotton – a significant obstacle to holding prices above the dollar level.
U.S. cotton production, exports, and ending stocks are largely unchanged in USDA’s WASDE report for December, as world numbers show lower production and beginning stocks and slightly higher consumption.
