Stagnant demand, coupled with good showers across most of the U.S. Cotton Belt, sent cotton prices into a nosedive as the July 4 celebrations ended.
While the USDA June plantings report surprised the market, prices somewhat recovered and settled the week at 72.69, basis December.
Since closing below 72 cents, cotton prices are attempting a rally and testing what could be a little resistance at the 74-cent area.
