Innovative Solutions Help Your Legacy Grow
Cotton growers understand that success begins with the right variety—but they also know that no two fields are exactly alike. Even neighboring farms can face vastly different soil conditions and weed pressures. That’s why a proactive, season-long plan is essential to unlocking every field’s yield potential.
“Cotton farmers know their land better than anyone, and they know that each field may require a customized approach,” said Andrew Adams, Cotton Marketing Manager for BASF. “It starts with quality seed and continues with crop protection selections that meet their specific needs and challenges.”
FiberMax® Cotton Seed with Axant™ Flex Technology
Innovation and a commitment to quality are the cornerstones to a strong legacy. For more than 25 years, FiberMax® cotton seed varieties have been bred, tested and grown to deliver the agronomic performance for top yield potential and quality for Texas cotton growers. Now, FiberMax cotton seed is continuing to deliver quality varieties bred for some of the toughest acres in the Cotton Belt.
For the 2025 season, BASF introduced two new varieties: FM 757AXTP and FM 814AXTP. These varieties are part of a limited release including Axant™ Flex technology*, cotton’s most advanced herbicide trait. The addition of this trait will offer comprehensive weed control in the future once corresponding herbicides are registered by the EPA. BASF anticipates introducing a “traited” residual herbicide for cotton ahead of the 2026 season, subject to receiving registration for use with cotton by the EPA.
These varieties also provide three-gene insect control with the TwinLink® Plus trait. They add to the portfolio of cotton seed varieties with Axant Flex technology — FM 765AX, FM 823AXTP and FM 868AXTP* — bringing growers a wealth of options to suit their fields. FiberMax cotton seed varieties also offer resistance to common challenges and difficult-to-detect pests and diseases like: root-knot nematodes, reniform nematodes, bacterial leaf blight, Verticillium wilt and other key diseases.
FiberMax cotton seed has delivered premium fiber quality and high yield potential in the toughest growing environments for more than 25 years. Couple this quality with cutting-edge Axant Flex technology, and FiberMax cotton seed meets cotton growers’ high standards, rising to the tough challenges of the Western Cotton Belt.
Adams concluded, “BASF is committed to the success of U.S. cotton growers and will continue to invest in the development of new cotton varieties and crop protection products to bring advances to cotton.”
