Foliar Fertilization for Stressed Cotton

Parts of the Southern Cotton Belt have received periods of torrential rainfall during the past few weeks, resulting in localized flooding and stress to early season cotton.

Tyson Raper, Tennessee Extension cotton and small grains specialist, says growers have been asking about applying foliar fertilizers to help cotton in stressed areas catch up with the crop located in better field conditions. He suggests five points that growers should keep in mind when considering foliar applications.
