Bayer CropScience Offers LibertyLink Incentive

According to Bayer CropScience, farmers who plant a minimum 250 acres of LibertyLink cotton will be eligible for a $2 per acre incentive (based on seeding rates of 5 acres per unit of cottonseed). Andy Hurst, product manager for LibertyLink and Ignite herbicide, says this offer provides an incentive for growers to plant LibertyLink cotton (the rebate also applies to soybeans), which is a great way to rotate modes of action.

The LibertyLink trait with Ignite herbicide is the only nonselective alternative to glyphosate-tolerant systems, the company says. The trait is available in high-performing hybrids and varieties and provides an effective tool to manage weed resistance, enabling nonselective herbicide rotation in multiple crops.

“We’re very confident that farmers will be pleased with the performance of LibertyLink varieties and the powerful, non-selective weed management possible with Ignite,” Hurst said. To qualify, farmers must order their seed by February 1, 2012. For more information on the LinkUp Offer, see your preferred seed seller or supplier.
