Time to Clear Pigweeds from the Field

Most post-emergence and/or layby herbicides have now been applied to cotton in many areas. Dr. Guy Collins, NC State Extension cotton specialist, says this generally marks the end of chemical weed control for the season…but also marks the start of weed management for 2016 by aggressively working to remove any surviving Palmer amaranth plants from the field.

The best option at this point – hand-weeding and removal.
