All Grown Up?

We’re fast approaching an anniversary for Cotton247.com, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t tell you about it. In April, our little website here turns one year old.

A bunch has changed at this place since we first rolled it out, and I’d like to draw your attention to some of our new additions and capabilities, in case you’ve missed them.

For starters, I sincerely hope you’ve been following along at CottonTV. We’ve been adding videos from the events we’ve hosted, as well as some of the field days we’ve attended. Most recently, we’ve begun a series of interviews with corporate leaders from the cotton industry’s most influential companies. We think this is an excellent series for anyone who is interested in the direction of the cotton industry. We call it Cotton Vision, and I encourage you to follow along as we post the videos in the weeks to come.

We’ve also gradually added several specialty pages, where you can keep up with us as we update the latest news on topics as varied as U.S. acreage projections, precision agriculture or crop protection.

I should note that a significant portion of you are already in tune with the website. We review site metrics reports that can tell us how many of you are visiting and what pages you’re going to most. The number of you who visit our site in one month has ballooned from about 2,500 a year ago to over 13,000 in February of 2010. The idea is to keep that number climbing, and we feel we’re on the right track towards doing that.
