Coverage of ICA Dubai 2011: Meet Your Fellow Attendees

Regardless of which industry sector people work in, ICA Dubai has something for everyone. Merchants, spinners and weavers, traders, textile manufacturers and producers will all benefit from ICA’s lineup of expert speakers, as well as the opportunity to network with their peers from across the globe.

To provide insight on what some of those attendees hope to accomplish at the event, Cotton International polled its readers about their plans. A sample of their responses can be found below.

“There is a lot! It’s critical to network with old and new customers, and I look forward to sitting in on the presentations and panel discussions. Like so many others, I am curious to find out how our mill friends are dealing with such high input costs. It looks like the market situation we’re in will be around for a while, so how they’re doing today isn’t the whole story. We also want to know what their plans are to deal with those costs as we move forward.”

“Combining the March and October meetings–and more importantly, having them closer to the center of the cotton business–brings more influential and active business minds together. It also allows for follow-up meetings in surrounding markets.”

“I hope to meet a host of our cotton industry colleagues, whom I know either from previous meetings or existing business relationships. Through the presentations, I also hope to get detailed perspective on the current extraordinary bull run in the cotton market. With such a large number of attendees, it should be quite an energetic event.”

“I am especially interested in hearing more firsthand information about the outlook for next year’s cotton planting. That will provide some valuable insight into what might happen with prices in the near future. I am also excited to learn more about how spinners have been reacting to, and coping with, such high cotton prices.”
