ICA Sets Dates for 2012 Complete Cotton Training

The countdown has begun for the International Cotton Association’s next “Complete Cotton” training program, a 10-day residential course that will run from April 23 to May 2, 2012, in Liverpool, England.

Incorporating 17 modules, all delivered by industry experts, the training focuses on all aspects of the raw cotton trade, from cotton growing to spinning and everything else in between.

The 2011 course, which ran earlier this year, was a complete sell-out. ICA believes that this trend will continue for 2012, according to Kai Hughes, ICA managing director. “There is a demand for our training and this course is very popular. Over the years it has provided an excellent grounding for many of today’s key players in the cotton world,” Hughes says. “The benefits are far reaching. Not only do delegates gain access to training and networking that may otherwise be inaccessible, they transfer the learning back to their own workplace, which has a positive impact for the industry as a whole.

“We improved the course in 2011. We rationalized the syllabus, making it more relevant to today’s market conditions. We reduced the length of the course, allowing delegates less time away from their commitments back home and at work. We were also able to reduce the cost. The improvements paid off, the 38 delegates that attended gave the training a 94 percent “excellent/good” rating. And, based on their feedback, we are making further improvements for 2012.”

Complete Cotton is open to individuals of all ages from within the cotton trade, including producers, ginners, exporters, merchants, agents, importers, spinners and allied trades.

Hughes concludes, “There are only 40 places available on the 2012 course and there are already 17 names on the delegate list. Our advice is to book early to avoid disappointment.”
